Summer is always so relaxed and can be distracting when the weather is absolutely gorgeous outside!! It’s almost impossible to get back into a routine after the kids are back in school and the weather starts to cool down for fall.
So, after almost four months of bliss weather, how do you get back into the groove of things before the Christmas holidays come around? For me, it’s a little bit difficult to grasp that we will have to start working indoors soon as opposed to a patio!
If you’ve been feeling it hard to get back into a routine, here are a few simple ways that can help you get yourself out of the summer fun rut and back into full time business mode:
Use Your To-Do List Effectively
Rather than getting yourself over-worked and over-whelmed with a list of things you need to do, focus on doing 3 things everyday that are connected to your goals and where you want to head. By breaking your goals up into steps and setting tasks each day to accomplish these goals, you are not just goal setting, you are actually planning to achieve.
Re-Evaluate Your Goals
When we are often distracted from our goals, we feel disconnected to why we’re doing what we’re doing in the first place. I encourage you to start today with re-evaluating your goals, and maybe even creating a few new ones for the last quarter of the year. Revisit the goals that you set for yourself and remind yourself why it is important for you to do achieve these. This simple reminder will help propel you into action and get those creative juices flowing again!
Be Inspired EVERY DAY
Make a commitment to creating a habit out of your 3 daily tasks and you will soon see yourself powering through all of your goals! Look at your schedule and figure out how you can find a spare hour in your day and make it your priority to knock these 3 things off. Trust me, it’s amazing what you can achieve and so little time when you’re super focused and clear on what you need to do!
Offer Your Services
The feeling of not being motivated is a sign you need to make some kind of change - big or small. By shifting your perspective away from you to one that is focused on others and how you can to be of service to them is a simple way to snap out of your indecision. Think of it this way: How can you support, motivate, encourage or inspire others to be the best version of themselves and make their day a little better? How can the services you offer assist someone else in need to grow their own business?
We all fall off track sometimes – especially me! If I don’t write things down in my planner, they never ever get done! I live by lists and schedules and I find that during the summertime, it’s hard for me to stay focused. Especially when my husband comes home and says, “Get dressed, let’s head out and enjoy the sunshine!”
Cheers to Summer, and double cheers to getting the last bit of our goals as lady entrepreneurs accomplish in these last few months of 2017!
