It’s a new year, which means new planner goodies to organize into your planners and new goals to organize action plans for.
2021 is fully upon us and not knowing how this year is going to unravel is hard enough. But one thing we can plan out and know for certain, is how we plan to take action in our daily lives and how we wish to accomplish our goals.
Goal planning is a huge part of my planner set up, as is the daily element. One thing I want to share with you is a basic set up I use to manage my Real Estate business, my Coaching business and my Blog. On top of all of that - I still have to manage my family life. That is a lot of managing…but rest assured, having a planner that works with your lifestyle and organized to your needs will be the ultimate productivity guide.
First thing is first - the initial planner set up.
I use three planners - don’t let this overwhelm you! No, you don’t need multiple planners, I actually started off using one. Once I was accustomed to the one and happy with how it was helping me to achieve productivity and stay organized, I set up a second one, and then finally, a third. The reason being I like to focus on one thing at a time, and separating my businesses helps me to do so without flipping back and forth with personal items distracting me.
My main planner is my Louis Vuitton MM (which is the medium size planner and fits personal size inserts).
I use this planner primarily for my Real Estate business. In this planner, I track the following:
Current “To Do” items - Call back client reminders, follow up on tasks, etc.
Calendar - appointments, client birthdays, anniversaries, contract due dates, contract expiries, closing dates, etc.
Marketing - I tend to plan out my marketing initiatives quarterly and have mini action plans prior to each marketing task.
Realty - Licensing details, fees breakdown and due dates, etc.
Finance - I track my Commissions with a breakdown of HST, Savings & Expenses here.
Admin - Basic passwords, access, contact details, etc.
My second planner is more of a reference planner for my Real Estate Coaching business and my Real Estate Blog. This planner is set up as a Half-Letter Discbound, the cover purchased from Poi & Hun. I like the size of this planner as it allows me to wrote more in detail of my action plans and plan out my coaching sessions as well as my blog posts and any other marketing ideas I need to enforce.
This planner is broken down this way:
Calendar - Tracks all of my blog posts and Coaching Courses & Sessions
Stilettos - Tracks the details of my blog posts and brainstorming of future blog poss
Coaching - Tracks the course guidelines, Clients, Workbook, etc.
R/E Broker - Tracks my full out marketing plan for the year (then I use my personal planner to set out small action plans throughout the year)
Magazine - I keep track of my progress for my own on-going business projects here
E-Book - I like to track my e-book and ideas that I want to put into place for future books.
The final planner I use is the Louis Vuitton Pocket Planner. This one is small and compact and I carry this with me when I am running errands. It’s small enough to have on hand the information I need for the week or day.
In this planner, I track mostly personal items:
Calendar - Bill due dates, family & friends’ birthdays, anniversaries, Nate’s appointments, etc.
Finance - Savings Tracker, Expenses, Order Tracker (I tend to buy a lot online these days!)
Notes - Personal Goals, Habit Trackers, Holiday Ideas, etc.
To Do - On-going list of items to do
Nate - Meals, Dr. Info, Special Dates, Snack Ideas, etc.
Home - Meal plans for the week/month, shopping lists, to do stuff around the home, etc.
Three planners may be overwhelming and you really don’t need all three. Find what works for you. This just happens to work for me and I like the idea of separating my personal planning from my business planning. I like the separation because when I am at the office, I don’t need my planner open so other people can glance and see my whole life. The separation gives me balance and for me, that is truly important when it comes to planning.
Some of the shops I used are listed below. I love supporting small businesses and stationary just makes me so happy. I think if I didn’t have my planners to refer to, I would be totally lost in everything I have to do on the daily.

Planning has always been a part of the way I live my life. I like to have a plan of action and implement tasks accordingly. Having three planners just works well for me. I am actually planning to set up a recipes planner - these days I feel like I am a chef all day every day ;)
Happy Planning!
